In Historical Dictionary of Colombia. Pp. 121. Metuchen: The Scarecrow Press, Inc., José María Chaves, a functionary of the Bogotá mint, accuses the Judges of the Tribunal of Cundinamarca of irregular procedures in the investigation of a robbery of Nueva Granada’s mint in Bogotá. Chaves argues that the investigation focused on searching only lower-class workers’ homes. He regards it as suspicious that those with administrative functions, particularly the director of the mint, were excluded from the search.
